XGRIDS 3DGS platform

LCC CyberColor and 3DGS workflows.

The XGRIDS 3D Gaussian Splatting workflow can turn compatible capture data into photorealistic spatial models for walkthroughs, visualisation, and digital twin experiences.

Definition

What is 3D Gaussian Splatting?

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) is a reconstruction technique that represents a scene as millions of small, view-dependent colour "splats" instead of a mesh. The result renders photorealistically in real time — including reflections, soft lighting, and fine detail that mesh and point cloud views flatten out.

For project teams, the practical point is this: the same capture trip can produce a measurable point cloud for technical work and a photorealistic 3DGS scene for communication.

Workflow

How Lixel K2 and PortalCam fit.

Lixel K2 LCC

The K2's LiDAR + camera capture can feed LCC reconstruction — geometry-anchored 3DGS alongside the technical point cloud, depending on the processing setup.

PortalCam LCC

PortalCam is built for visual-first 3DGS capture — the natural input when photorealism is the goal rather than measurement.

Use cases

Where 3DGS earns its keep.

Real estate walkthroughs

Browser-viewable, photorealistic property scenes for listings and pre-lease.

Venues & events

Share a space with planners and clients without a site visit.

Heritage records

Visually faithful archives of cultural sites and exhibitions.

Media & XR

Scenes for virtual production reference, XR environments, and spatial content.

Digital twin experiences

A photorealistic layer on top of technical twin documentation.

Spatial AI

Real-world scene data for spatial AI and dataset experiments.

Output

Browser-viewable, shareable scenes.

LCC scenes can run in the browser and connect to Unity, Unreal, WebGL, and XR-related workflows, depending on setup. A sample Singapore scene will sit here once captured.
