The office work happens on site.

Perspective is a single field application rather than a suite. It handles in-field scanner control and complete registration for Trimble X-series systems, which is why an X12 rental can end with a registered, georeferenced project rather than a folder of raw scans.

Scanner control and 3D view

Drive the scanner from the tablet and see the point cloud build in 3D as stations complete, with annotations added on the fly.

Automatic registration

Scans auto-register as you capture, IMU-assisted, so you can verify the project is registered before leaving the jobsite , and refine or register manually where it matters.

Measure and georeference

Take area, distance, point and clearance measurements in the live cloud. Import a CSV of control points or key them in to orient the project to your control on site.

What it runs, and what it needs.

Perspective is the controller for the whole X-series line, so the same field workflow carries across instruments. It runs on a Trimble T10x tablet or a comparable Windows machine; office refinement continues in Trimble RealWorks or Business Center.

Connect

Pair the tablet to the scanner over WLAN or Ethernet and open the project in Perspective.

Scan

Capture station by station. The cloud assembles in 3D on screen as each scan lands, IMU-assisted.

Auto-registration runs as you go. Refine, or register manually where geometry is thin, then check the result.

Georeference

Import or key in control points, orient the project, and confirm registration before you pack up.

How it fits an X12 rental.

You cannot run an X-series scanner without Perspective, so it is part of the conversation at handover rather than an optional extra. Tell us whether you are bringing your own controller or need one in the kit.

Is Perspective included with an X12 rental?
The X12 cannot be operated without it, so software and controller configuration are confirmed as part of the handover. Tell us in your enquiry whether you have a Trimble T10x or comparable Windows tablet, or need one included in the kit.
Does it replace office software?
Partly. Perspective completes registration and georeferencing in the field, which removes most of the office registration step. Further processing, modelling and deliverable production continue in Trimble RealWorks or Trimble Business Center.
Which scanners does it control?
The Trimble X-series: X7, X9 and X12. The X9 comes in Core LT, Core and Premium configurations. The same field workflow carries across all of them.
What does it run on?
A Windows tablet or laptop connected over WLAN or Ethernet: a Trimble T10x or a comparable machine with OpenGL 4.4 or higher graphics support. Requirements can be confirmed before your rental.
Can I georeference without survey control?
Perspective registers scans to each other without control, which is enough for relative as-built work. Tying the project to a coordinate system needs control points, imported as CSV or keyed in. Raise this before booking: it changes what you need on site.
